As much as I love the 2010 fall color palette, I don’t believe in giving up white after Labor Day. I believe in wrapping up in white whenever I please. As pale as I am, I know it is not the best color for me, but I can’t resist its pure, almost magical nature. It is after Labor Day, and I’m wearing white–layered up, and pastel as can be!
This outfit was inspired by the fairies. I have been fascinated with fairies ever since I was a little girl. This week when we found ourselves on the most enchanting path in a neighboring town, I thought this was the perfect outfit for the occasion. I had to stop by this little wooden gate, as it looked like a place where the wee folk might play.
I really got into playing with layers this summer. While this gauzy white dress is pretty enough to wear alone, I rather like the effect of adding a silky, loose-fitting top over it. With layered necklaces and a slouchy bag, it looks even more bohemian than before.
Perhaps I lean towards the boho look whenever I can because it feels fairyish and magical. An outfit is always extra special when it captures the spirit that represents you and what you adore. For me, at the moment, this is it.

Rachel Bilson brought country style to the street with this beautiful ensemble. A navy and white dress is paired with a brown satchel, brown leather boots and brown sunglasses. Skipping the baubles, Bilson keeps her look extra fresh and easy.
Take this look into the fall by adding tights and a cardigan or trench coat. Don’t let those white spots bother you–that “no white after Labor Day” rule was put to bed long ago. A little white can brighten up the dark color palette of fall.

Fall means the return of big, chunky knit sweaters. These wonderful layering pieces keep us warm and stylish when the temperature drops.
Make your chunky knits work for you by balancing them out with skinnier pieces like leggings or a long clutch handbag. Don’t be afraid to experiment with belts and other accessories. Booties, over the knee boots and clogs are the perfect match for this season’s sweaters.

I’m still enjoying the summer, but I couldn’t wait to slip into a few fall colors. The fall 2010 fashion color palette is irresistible. With Chocolate Truffle and Lipstick Red in mind, I chose this top to welcome autumn.
The deep brown and vibrant red make me think of a cherry chocolate truffle (though sweets are never too far from my mind). Soon, I will be yearning for spring and something cotton candy-ish. But for now, I’ll enjoy my rich autumn colors.

Cherry Chocolate Truffle Look:

- Sheer Floral Tunic And Tank From s. Oliver
- Straight Leg Jeans From Banana Republic
- Watch By Coach
- Tiger’s Eye Bracelets
- Signature Mini Tags Necklace By Isabelle Grace Jewelry
- Red Hobo Handbag By Ellington Handbags
- Silver Ballet Flats From Gap

Our hemlines are dropping below the knee for fall, girls! While various skirt lengths will fill our wardrobes this season, there is something extra special about longer lengths this fall.
The Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 ad campaign gave us our first look at the retro-inspired glamour that calls for longer skirts and dresses. With minimalism and ladylike handbags in vogue, it seems perfectly logical to have longer, fuller skirts to complement our back to the basics style.
Hemlines that fall at or below the knee can provide ladylike structure or an easygoing attitude, depending on the style. For a sophisticated look, opt for slim fitting pencil skirts and full satin skirts. For a more casual look, opt for a jersey wrap dress or maxi.
