Gwen Stefani tones down her edgy style for last night’s appearance at The Fashion Group International’s 26th Annual Night of Stars in New York City.  Stefani’s look is classy with subtle touches of edge that help her maintain her trademark style.

While Stefani’s hair and makeup say 70’s mod, her dress and accessories say 2009.  Stefani’s nude lips, which are usually tinted with some fabulous shade of red, lead the way in creating her soft and glamorous look.  Her eyes stand out, lined in black eyeliner and lots of lashes.  Stefani’s  platinum hair is long, full, and sexy.  Her little black dress has a modern cut.  The added glossy black belt provides just the right amount of edge and accentuates her waist.  Black patent peep toe pumps with subtle blue heels help Stefani maintain her rocker roots.  A sparkly bracelet adds glitz to Stefani’s look.

Stefani proves that no matter what the occasion, it is possible to dress approrpirately while maintaining a bit of your own style.  She also reminds us not to get stuck in a fashion rut.  Try something new, like nude lips!
